That book looks interesting. I think I would rather hear about the battles that the author, Ian S Uys. like Enduring Valour: South Africa's Cross of Honour.

_Tribe_ by Sebastian Junger was recommended to me by two friends who saw a lot of action in Iraq. It has nothing to do with Iraq but its a fascinating look at not only PTSD but a lot of different "ills" of modern society that I'd love to know your opinion on. FYI, I did not serve in military was on verge of doing Marine OCS after sophomore year but blew out my knee playing football. Took up jiu jitsu at age 50...7 years ago and its the best physical thing I've ever done so that's how I ran across your book and your podcast.

Jocko, First, the podcast, Extreme Ownership, Psychological Warfare, I love it all. It has changed my life for the better, so I have given the book to over 15 people at work, in my family and friends. Thank you for all you do.
Would you consider reviewing the book Hamilton by Ron Chernow on a podcast? It's the book that inspired the play Hamilton, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Both inspirational by brilliant authors and full of leadership lessons and real war stories.

Well Alexander Hamilton, is over 800 pages. Might be a little bit heavy. Musashi is just under 1000 pages and Jocko gave us a spoiler alert 1 year in advance. Maybe this will be the next phone book we can read. Since carrying Musashi to work every day, I have lost 2 pounds.

Have y'all read Co. Aytch by Samuel Watkins? It is a book written by a private, Sam Watkins, from Columbia, Tenn in the war of northern aggression. It is a very interesting book since most books written about this war are written from the commanders point of view. I strongly encourage this read!!!
I am also reading Book of 5 Rings by Miyamoto Mushashi, I can't wait to hear the podcast.

Hey Jocko, Really love the podcast. I highly recommend reading "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius, that is if you haven't read it already.

How about "Commando: A Boer Journal Of The Boer War" by Deneys Reitz. He has two follow up novels covering the Boer War through WWI and politics between the WWs.

1. The One that got away - tale of the only man to escape death or capture during the Bravo Two Zero operation in the 1991 Gulf War. SAS at its most awesome. I couldn't believe some of the things these guys got up to 2. Zero Six Bravo. 60 Special Forces taking on 100.000 Iraqi troops. Ludicrously impossible task in which the 60 guys give it their all. Written by Damien Lewis 3. Sniper One. True story of a British battle group under siege in Iraq. Brutal. This book provides a clear insight into front line soldiers actions and thought processes during war. Must be a lot of parallels to Task Unit Bruiser!
