Hi everyone. Really don't know how I stumbled on the podcast but it has been awesome. Love the motivation and the encouragement. A little about myself. I'm a Dentist in central NJ, just turned 40. I have been overweight most of life with some short spurts of fitness. In October I was 224 and had had enough. Set a goal for 175 by my 40th through diet alone. Though I missed it by 2 lbs, I proved to myself I could do anything. I've just recently added in running using the c25k app and slowly adding in pull ups, weights and such. Ive reset my goal for 160 as I have plenty of flab about the midsection. I eat lowish carb, mod protein and veggie diet. Anyone in a similar boat hit me up. Oh also I'm working on getting into a BJJ class to help with fitness and defense.

Awesome Buddy. Dropped a whole Plate (45 lbs). I have been trying to get under 200 lbs for the first time since High School. My most recent motivation has been that I got "Flagged" on a life insurance physical and it cost me $15 bucks a month. I have been doing the Ketogenic diet, and I do eat more veggies than the vegetarians I know. I am 35. I am doing a Ruck this weekend, 6 hours of following a retired Marine near the Hudson River. Once I finish that I will start looking to Jiu Jitsu.

I hit 218 and got bored. I did a whole weekend cut for my life insurance physical and was so dehydrated that it pumped up my blood pressure. I am keeping my carbs down. I do a dessert about once a month. One carb/starch a day.
Needed to get angry at something, so I am on the Starting Strength program. I got my squat looking right and have added about 75 lbs in a month. I blame it on a few guys I know who have dead lifts and squats that are about double mine. My squat is just over 200 lbs.
The ruck was awesome. We got harassed as soon as we got there. Then we locked arms and walked into the Hudson river. Learned that I am not good at carrying trees.
I am working on trying to make impacts in individual people. Got 2 or 3 people who I regularly pester and try to keep on track or help through the rough spots.
