How to deal with a team member you find very unpleasant

I am in my fourth year of my Bachelors of Business Administration (Marketing) and have had many classes with an individual (we'll call him Rob) I find distasteful. My program is structured so that we get used to working as team. As a result group projects are a key component of our education and are assigned in almost every class. I have had Rob in my group for multiple classes and every time he fails to contribute to the team. In addition to this, he consistently interrupts a young Professor of ours either chiming in with sarcastic remarks or trying to tell jokes that are so awkward they cause your body to tense up and cringe. I am once again in a group with Rob. He's no idiot and is in fact very intelligent though lacks any primitive understanding of social skills. I would like to try and make something work so that we deliver something great as a team but it will be no easy task.

How can I work with this individual and get him to contribute to the final project while also dealing with his distasteful personality?
