I work nights from 3pm to 1:30am. I’m on a 4/10 schedule. But we are short staffed so i’m forced to work 6 days working 12+ hour shifts. My day off changes every week and i try to workout on my day off if i can. Ever since i work nights, going to the gym has been tough...Is it better to workout after work or prior?
I also work in a warehouse doing a lot of bending, twisting and on my feet all day.

I will try to grab the clip where Jocko answered this for a drywall hanger.
For me, I need a flavor of the month when it has to be on top of long days. I have done rounds of only kettle bell swings, only push-ups, and lifting heavy (dead lift, squat, bench), or get some rings and do dips and chin-ups. And when I get hurt, I end up doing recuperative exercises like physical therapy, yoga.
If you want to build strength, look up Mark Rippetoe and Starting Strength. It will take a gym with a squat rack and a little bit of book keeping.
