Premiered May 25, 2019 05.25.19 | Jocko Willink is a decorated retired Navy SEAL officer, author of the book Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win, and co-founder of Echelon Front, where he is a leadership instructor, speaker, and executive coach. Jocko spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams, starting as an enlisted SEAL and rising through the ranks to become a SEAL officer. As commander of SEAL Team Three’s Task Unit Bruiser during the battle of Ramadi, he orchestrated SEAL operations that helped the “Ready First” Brigade of the US Army’s First Armored Division bring stability to the violent, war-torn city. During his career, Jocko was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and numerous other personal and unit awards. In 2010, Jocko retired from the Navy and launched Echelon Front with Leif Babin where he teaches the leadership principles he learned on the battlefield to help others lead and win.

Glenn and Jocko could have easily talked past each other. The issue with Glenn is he wanted to talk to the Navy Seal Jocko, but should have talked to the Dad Jocko.
Watching this I wanted to sit there and explain to Jocko who Glenn is, and then explain to Glenn who Jock is. I understand I am a weird person, but I have shaken both of thier hand's in New York city, just about 10 years apart. #NameDrop

I get what you mean. It doesn't happen so much here because we have mandatory service so everyone knows about such things and most people are done with it all once they get out, but when I go overseas to visit family and people find out what I did in the military they often want to talk to the army guy and I kind of shut down a little because there's no real common ground for talking about those things.
