How do you know if you’re getting enough work done during the day?
Sometimes I feel satisfied with what I am accomplishing but also second guess myself as to whether I am doing “enough”. Working hard enough or if I should try and work harder or be tougher on myself. Perhaps it is an individual thing but I am Curious if anyone else has this dilemma and also curious what Jocko has to say about this matter in particular from his personal experience.

I don't think he comes here often, but I do a mean impersonation:
"You know what you are supposed to do. DO IT." - Jocko
"Don’t wait. Go now." - Jocko
"Steak" - Jocko

How do you know if you are getting enough done during the day? This is a bigger question. First question is what do the external factors say? If your boss, spouse, friends, and bank account are all happy with your amount of work, then you are probably doing okay.
Second question is more goal oriented. Where do you want to be in 10 years? 20 years? 50 years? Are you completing enough everyday to get you where you want to be? This is a great application of future authoring. Jordan B Peterson has a program called future authoring, where you write your future. It doesn't have to be anything extra ordinary, just what you want the future to be. This becomes an exercise in thinking about possibilities, planning for those possibilities and getting some level of external evaluation of that plan, so that you are most likely to actually achieve that plan.
Maybe you want to get out of debt, buy a summer home and retire at 60. You can write all those things down, you can do some math to figure out how much you need to earn. See if your career path will create that level of wealth. Once you have some of these variables, you can evaluate the trade off of spending less vs working more. Investing externally vs Investing internally. Having kids earlier vs Having kids later vs never having kids. This plan can change at anytime, but you should be the one changing the plan.
Start looking into this. Jordan always says a bad plan is always better than no plan.

If you're coasting, you're not doing enough. Work is supposed to be hard, tiring, and satisfying. If you are applying unmitigated daily discipline in all things, then it should require a certain amount of discipline to maintain your pace/work load. That's usually my baseline. If I'm not having to use discipline to maintain my pace, I'm not doing enough.
Hope that helps.
A quick "Good" story you guys might like. My wife was looking for a new coffee table and end table set. She found a set she liked, but it was already sold. I said, "Good. Now we can find a better set." 3 days later she found a "like new" used set for 1/3 of the price. "Good. Now we can get coffee tables and STEAK".
