On April 12, 2019, 21 year-old Cpl. Tyler Wallingford was shot and killed in the barracks of MCAS Beaufort by Cpl. Spenser Daily. Both were aircraft ordnance technicians with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501. Tyler came from a family of firefighters in Maine and followed in those footsteps throughout highschool. Tyler was currently on military leave at Standish Fire/EMS as he continued on his journey with 501. Tyler always strived to be the best at everything he did, while also dragging everyone else up with him. Most put others in front of themselves, Tyler on the other hand, would put you on his back. No matter who, what, where, it didn't matter. If you needed saving, he was your Hero.
I will always cherish the memories we made, my friend. Rest in Peace Cpl. Tyler "Wally" Wallingford
