A really good book on strategy and leadership worth reading is 'The Crossing of the Suez' by Saad El Shazly.
We had it as required reading in my Security Studies MA, it's a really good look into the strategies and leadership Gen. Shazly used in the '73 war as well as his conflicts with the political leadership.
