Hello All, Just hoping to set up some of the guidelines, protocols, and common questions for the page. Number one. No Ads. Post what you are into the introductions, but no click through, weird URL's. Number two. We want you to Join. Sign up. We don't email you, sell your data, or get weird. Number three. But we don't hate guest posts. Number Four. If you do post an ad for Prednizone, viagra, or concert tickets, WE WILL DELETE IT. If you have a question about something being a ad, ask. I am not going to delete your post about your new podcast unless it is the "I hate the Jocko Podcast Forum Podcast".
FAQ's Does Jocko Answer these Posts? Negative. This is outside of Jocko's Standard intra-web presence. Find him on twitter. Are we allowed to use names? No hard line on this. Dropping names, rank, and dollars are no factor. You can use your name. If you are going to use someone else's name, do it with their permission or to attribute credit to public personas. I shouldn't do BJJ should I? You should do BJJ. Your issues are all issues. It is expensive. It is work. It is probably going to get you hurt. Figure out how to make it work for you with your issues. Ask your potential teacher. Is there anything not allowed on the boards? I don't like posts that threaten suicide or demand to talk to Jocko. The few that have shown up here typical get some form of Direct Message from me. If you don't respond, I might take it down. What kind of things do we like to have on the Jocko Forum? We love to hear how extreme ownership, BJJ, or the podcast has changed your life. We love things you have written or found on the web that has helped you. We love to know about your new projects, gatherings, or ways you are changing the world.

I wanted to share an example of Extreme ownership success from my recent career experience, to support the notion that “Own your mistakes” is one of the most impactful characteristics a leader can show in the workplace and in life as well. I was inspired by Jacko’s mantra on owning every aspect of your life, good and bad in order to fulfill your potential, regardless of what your aspirations are.....
My story: I lead a large team of technical and professional employees within a Forture 50 organization - my job is to lead Global deployments of business technology to various areas of our organization - the work is high-visibility and the opportunity to make mistakes is ever-present. A few weeks ago, we discovered a major issue with one of the tech platforms we implemented, which caused a widespread impact on many of our employees as a result. As this issue was raised and investigated, the cause was identified that one of my team members did not complete a required task as part of the deployment.
Rather than highlighting the mistake by my team member, I assumed full responsibility for the high-visibility miss, and subsequently met with every Senior Executive in the organization which felt the impact of this issue to explain that this was caused by my team, under my watch, so I was taking the blame and the corrective actions to rectify the issue.
The result: Every executive which I spoke with and explained the issue, was not only appreciative of the prompt address of the situation, but more so, was encouraged and complimentary of the “ownership” taken to address and not pass the buck or make excuses...... this upfront, direct ownership of the issue left no opportunity to overtly criticize or further condemn the issue : the approach had the opposite effect which was increasing the confidence of Senior Leadership in my team’s ability to deliver and address future issues as they arise - no questions asked.
When you start taking direct ownership of all issues within your life, you leave zero room for excuses or opportunity for others to criticize- you begin to operate above other’s opinions. Your ability to grow into leadership or larger-leadership roles within anything you do in life depends on your accountability for your actions and outcomes!
Hope my story provided a sound example of “Extreme Ownership” and it’s empowering effects on your personal development!

Hello Echo & Jocko,
I have a great candidate for the Jaco podcast. His name is Mike Glines (age 72). He served in Vietnam as a Marine and was an expert in the “law” antitank weapon. He was awarded the Purple Heart for being injured in war and saving his men. He continued his path of leadership by coaching at Central Catholic high school in Modesto California leading our football team to the second highest winning streak at 89 wins 0 losses (under De la Salle) . He is a strong advocate for leadership on every level, and he would teach us the lessons that he learned from war and apply it to football and life. Please let me know the best way to getting him as a guest on the podcast. I feel like it would be such a great experience. Please let me know the next steps and how to make this happen. Love everything you do, and how you’re helping generations after you get better!
