I want to put a section in my book about discipline and I would like to use quotes from Jocko and maybe a reference to "The discipline equals freedom field manual."
Is there any wisdom anyone here can impart for first time authors? I've listened to Stephen kings book on writing and various other things, but I find it hard to identify what people will actually be willing to pick up and read. I guess it is the million dollar question, but it's still worth mentioning.
Is there anything that you wish your teachers in high school or college had taught you that would have accelerated your trajectory in life?
If you could carry around one book as a young adult that held all of the answers for you, what book would that be?
If you could blend some books together to accomplish the same goal, what would those books be?

A few troopers have written books. HYPERBOLE HOUSE by James Murphy Rob Jones The Hundred Rules of War by Eric Shahan Sovereignty: The Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Men by Ryan Michler
I am working on one, but mine is one of those 2 word titles that is probably a single color and only made to look interesting on the shelf in a Hudson News at the Air Port. The guy I sit next to at work wrote Bruises: Divorce, Crazyland, Jiu-jitsu...a Memoir by Michael R. Simpson High Points. Get it all written. Have a good reviewer. Have a good editor. Understand who you partner with. Generally try to write it as short as possible.
