Hello.
I'm hoping someone in law enforcement or experience in the area can answer this: why would a cop refuse to take a report of:
1. abuse 2. fraud
And instead of asking questions about the incident try to convince the person not to report at all.
It looked like they're just covering it up to me.
And how do you deal with it.
Many thanks!

The reason they wouldn't take a repot is authority and jurisdiction. IRS fraud is not for the local law enforcement. You could report it to the IRS. The majority of their complaints are jaded acquaintances. It will take some work on your end to prove you are not one of them. I asked a similar question to a detective and he said he tells people to write their congressman.
Brian, but you know that.

As far as the domestic situation, there is literally no way to answer that from afar. It could be anything from no crime being actually committed to the cop being lazy.
The fraud could be the same, with the added jurisdictional issues already addressed.

yea, they're not just lazy, they get seriously pissed it you ask for their names and badges too. went in to report fraud, ran away due to arrest threat. Are you a real cop? I need to find one who is not incompetent. Its not juristiction, the law is built in such a way that there is NO juristiction at all. they just give u the go around. and what's up with ppl taking the stance that if no one died yet, its not a crime? wth?? do I need to explain why its important not to let the bad guys use fraudulent documents to kill ppl noW? seriously? law enforcement is full of lazy thugs. of both genders, somehow.

- if someone steals ur id and forges it is that a crime? y/n? - if a family member gets violent, is that a crime? y/n?
some families/people are fu, I didn't make them that way, and getting away from those situations is an impossible task if the ppl who are supposed to help u, choose not to.

I am a real cop, and it would do absolutely no good for me to try to give you advice. I do not know your local laws, and you've seemed to have made up your mind about what you think is right/wrong and cops in general.
Besides all of that, isnt this forum about LEADERSHIP? I'm sure there are plenty of forums available for trash talking. This wouldn't be one of them.
