I was discussing this with another friend that listens to the podcast. I think for the next presidential election I am going to write Jocko in. Jocko if you read this, will you consider running for President in the future?

Jocko has answered this a few times. He will only do this if "it gets real bad". and understand his measuring stick goes from Hanoi Hilton to San Diego. I don't think we are near bad.
Why would you want Jocko to get elected? So he could lead the nation, but he is only good as the distributed decentralized leadership. So what he needs is a whole army of Jocko Minded leaders, infiltrating the government so that no matter who is elected, the systems are still good to go.

Having just watched the response about Americas withdraw from Afghanistan from Jocko, I have to wonder if it's time he seriously considers running for president.

He has spoke about this. It would put his wife in the spot light, which I don't believe she desires. He might consider a cabinet position once his kids are all out of the house.
These types of federal positions involve a lot of "we could never do that" and then a year and a half later it is how you do it.
We would need to get a few of the Admirals to run for office, and probably win, and force Jocko into VP or cabinet position.
Dan Crenshaw is a more likely option. Then some of these other guys who have more vertical drive like "Good Deal" Dave Burke, Jonny Kim.
