My son devoured both way of the warrior kid books. With summer approaching want to help him find other similar books. Grateful for any recommendations. Son is turning 10 but welcome books for kids and teens as well.

My daughter is 11. She likes books that continue or series. She loves the Rick Roirdan books like Magnus Chase and Percy Jackson. She just started the Harry Potter series. You could try Hardy Boys, Encyclopedia Brown, Mark Twain, Hatchet, and the run of standard Elementary Middle school age books. To stay on brand, Mike Ritland has a book for this age called Navy Seal Dogs which is targeted to teens and young adult. My big disclaimer is that I haven't read any of these (Other than the Warrior kid books). One I did read with her was Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. It has some adult themes but isn't overt. It is an interesting book about self control and understanding. I will spoil the end by saying the realization at the end is consciousness. Depending on family thoughts, it might have conflicts.

Thank you for sharing these thoughts and recommendations. You might like Carli Lloyd’s book, When No one Is Watching. Our family passed it around and all loved it, even those of us who know little about soccer. It’s an excellent account of perseverance.
