I was reading the "De Bello Gallico", I ask if someone knows if Jocko has spoken about Julius Caesar in the old podcast.

Have not yet had a specific Caesar podcast. They have spoke about specific Greek and Roman battles that are mentioned in the Napoleonic Magnums episode, but there has not been a Caesar book. Might be hard to find something first person sources about battles of Rome.

There are quite a few first person sources - Julius Caesar first among them - as most elite Romans served as part of the 'cursus honorum' with ten years service in the Equites, or serving as a staff officer for one of the generals. I think there are some quotes from Conquest of Gaul in episode 145, from a sourcebook of military strategy. Julius Caesar is easy to read in English and reasonable translations are available online, get stuck in! He's awesome. There's a lot of rubbish written about him but he was a soldier's soldier, loved by his men, who led from the front.
