First off, love the podcast. I've been listening to several a week over the last 4 months trying to catch up. I figured I'd pass along a great book on leadership that has some personal meaning to me. Thanks, Kevin War Beneath the Waves: A True Story of Courage and Leadership Aboard a World War II Submarine. My Grandfather Captain Charles Rush essentially assumed command of his submarine after 12 hours straight of Japanese depth charges and along with the help of several other members managed to save the ship. Navy Cross citation (awarded 60 years after the action) - valor.militarytimes.com/recipient.php?recipientid=21513The kicker of the story though is that he made a deal with the Captain to tell no one about how he assumed command if the Captain promised to remove himself from Submarines, which he did. Several crew members came forward with the story 60 years later, see below from Wikipedia. Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_W._Rush Navy Cross award Several decades after Rush's actions on the Billfish, many members of the crew began a campaign to document Rush's actions during the attack, as they had remained secret to protect the commanding officers on board.[4] In November 2002, nearly 60 years later after Rush's heroic actions, he was awarded the Navy Cross in a ceremony at Naval Station Pearl Harbor.[4] T his was the first time the honor had been bestowed upon someone other than a commanding officer. Here's the short version through an interview he gave in 2004, but the book is a great and easy read. militaryhonors.sid-hill.us/history/rush.htm www.amazon.com/War-Beneath-Waves-Leadership-Submarine/dp/0451232321www.donkeith.com/submarines/war-beneath-the-wavesI'd be happy to mail you a copy. Thanks, Kevin

Jocko doesn't hang out in the boards. Feel free to drop him a note on Facebook. Rush performed a brilliant maneuver. We have a bit of a form answer for this. People have sent Jocko books. The best place to mail them is the Victory MMA ATTN: Jocko Willink 3666 Midway Drive San Diego, CA | 92110 (619) 223-5581
