Listening to the Travis Mills cast. You discuss carrying heavy loads. For non military (firefighter here and I wear 50 pounds at most for a few hours at a time and am not covering any distance) the Bataan Memorial Death March is a great opportunity to experience a high desert 26.2 mile hump. Entry fee goes to local military benefits. Check it out at Bataanmarch.com. I am a 5 time participant (4 times heavy...45 pounds...1 light...Camelback). A great experience.
