I have been going back and listening to the podcasts in order and just listened to the first half of this one on my commute. WOW. As Jocko said - if you ever hear me complain about anything ever again, kick me in the head! That was some heavy and sad stuff. I actually ordered the book on Amazon too, i'm not sure why I want to go deeper into the pain but I think understanding the depths of what humanity is can be just as important as how great it can be. I also read that Phil Crissman post and he hit it spot on. Be appreciative of everything, even if its something like your kid wanting to play an interrupting your "me time" (which I have direct experience with my 5.5 year old!)

Little update. Alistair passed a few months ago, 10/7/2016. This was the second book from the podcast I read, Extreme Ownership being the first. Makes you appreciate everything and hungry for rice.
