Hi, not sure if this is the correct thread for this post but I'll give it a go.
I'm an amateur mma fighter and bjj purple belt. Been training in mma for the past 7 years. After losing two fights in a row I took a break from competing in mma for nearly 4 years before returning a few weeks back.
I lost a few weeks back (via gnp) and then last night (via body shot) and boy did it suck. In the gym I'm a beast, I'm training with world champion mma fighters and European champion bjj guys. Now I'm in a dilemma, do I keep going? Continuing to believe in myself or do I cut my losses? I've won a lot of bjj matches and lost some too, losing in mma sucks so much more and the fact I have a record slapped on me.
How do I create the mentality in which I 'expect' to win, that losing isn't even considered?
Anyway, thanks for any help.

What is the point of the matches? Making money? Testing your skills? Proving your meddle? Validating your skill? I don't think you need to focus on the win. I think you need to focus on the don't loose. How would you loose? Then work on those. Become your opponent. Find your weakness, and get better at that. What does your coach say? Are you an inexpensive training partner? Do you take criticism well? Do you put in the work? Skip rope, mobility, speed bag. I don't see any reason to have any more matches. Train to be better. With 7 years and a purple belt you are better at fighting than 99.7% of the planet. The only reason to get in the ring is to find out if you are 99.8% or 99.9%. I recently had an injury and had to start over in the gym. I had to fix my dead lift technique, squat, etc. About 1/3 of my workout is yoga-esque, stretching, mobility. If you want to become a better fighter, it might be time to start from scratch. Stance, basics, escapes.
Where else are you improving yourself? Is the cage a place where you get to have the fight from home, work, or childhood? That fight still needs to happen. Look for other avenues.
