In my town, there is only one BJJ/MMA gym. They change $200 a month which is crazy high to me. I will not drive any further to train. I have been rolling with 2-3 friends at a persons house, but after months of rolling with the same people over and over again it gets...monotonous. Do you think it is worth it to pay the high price (I have the money) or continue on a path that I feel will leave a bad taste in my mouth. I just feel that the gym is way over priced for the service. Thoughts?

That feels high. We pay $175 for our 2 kids. The question goes to what can you do? Have you talked to the gym? Ask them if there is a way to get the price down. Maybe if you get your 4 people to join, they can knock it down to $140 a piece.
So economics dictates price, based upon value and substitution. Look for a substitution. There might be a place for wrestling, or Judo, check into that. Jocko says BJJ is the ideal, but work on something similar.
Tim Ferris would tell you to scratch your own itch. If you could start the "other gym" in town and get $100 a person, this might be a win-win. Are there other factors that might be in play? Is everything expensive? Not many people?
