Been a Trooper since Oct. of last year. I was a 46 year old Engineer at Microsoft, looking to better myself, to take me over the edge and prove my worth in the fast pace world of Cloud Engineering. Was funneling through Leadership books in the Seattle Amazon Book Store and saw this one that just called to me. Went home and purchased through audible and like most of us on here - was and is still inspired. I submersed myself in the research of the authors and came across the interviews from Tim Ferris and Joe Rogan. I had already been a light sleeper, an early riser and worked out religiously but was plateauing. Long story short - Jocko's podcast came about and pushed me over to do and be better. I got over my plateau and since Jan. of this year I've dropped and kept off 30 lbs. I'm now 47 and still working to improve myself even more.
There was a tweet back in April from a fellow Trooper, that spoke about how Jocko's Podcast has helped a lot of us who just got lost in the "Adulthood" of life and he helped us get back on the path that we knew we belonged on. Wish I coulda saved that Tweet and remembered who sent it. It personified exactly how I felt.
In any case, that is my story and am happy to be a part of this movement, being able to comment on the podcast episodes and getting to meet all the other fellow Troopers out there.

Lost in "Adulthood". I like it. If you are anything like me, you see that all around you. And the WORST thing is all the people who don't see or feel that at all. I think this is why so many American Ninja Warrior competitors are programmers and engineers.
And the rest of us are obsessed with podcasts, military, fitness, personal improvement. Dave Ramsey says "Be weird. Have you seen normal? Normal Sucks".
