Jocko, Thanks for all the great podcasts. I love the messages and history lessons. I’ve learned much more about leadership and being disciplined which I’ve tried to put into practice. Podcast 139 struck a note with because the poem, whom is unknown , reminds me of poems written by my great uncle, CWO Felix McCool. Felix was captured on Corregidor and wrote many poems. This poem sounds much like something Felix would write. He was a career Marine and also captured at the battle of Chosin. He was a warrior. Featured on the TV show, “ This is Your Life,” several books of poetry and memoirs. I’ll share my favorite poem Felix wrote titled, To Thos at Home.”
Out of the darkness and into the distance light Out of the doubts of yesterday Into the bright today Out of the night
Out of yesterday the world of today has grown Out of today will come the world of tomorrow/ Your tomorrow!
