Good Evening, Gentlemen
I'm a Marine vet working at a bar in a small town for two friends. been working with them a lot the past 6 months, its grown into a family atmosphere between us. The owner and I play a pull-tab game pay for the tab chances theres cash or nothing. While playing the game the one owner (Who's a stubborn hot head) starts screaming over to me that If I win he gets half? I replied "no ill give you some though" He yelled the same again so I said "yea I'll hook you up with some" I grabbed them and walked. With my money I won $500 and now he's telling everyone I owe him half. We haven't talked because the money wont be ready until Friday. My original plan was to give both owners $100 ($200 +$75) for the three other employees that were working their asses off. I'm a Marine first, Manager second those workers are my troops and as marines know you all take care of each other. I still have that killer NCO in me to get shit handled but through my experiences this situation isn't the best time for that. Please Send some advice on what to do so I don't ruin a relationship with a friend.

Bad idea to put the deal together after the fact. And I know $500 bucks feels like a fortune, but it isn't. Your buddies, have a bar. They pay the power bill, rent, ads, staff. For someone to come in and make money in your establishment hits a little close to home.
The extreme ownership answer is to go sit down with the Hot Head or Both and say "I came in and worked this game and I should have talked to you about this first. It is your bar and I need to respect that. The other night you said you get half and that seems fair. I brought it all and it's right here. I have had some time to cool off and I was thinking $200 for you guys and $25 a pop for the others who were working with me that night."
Once the $500 is settled, ask "It was pretty interesting. I think the patrons had fun. If we did this in the future, what would the breakdown be? Are you guys ready to cover the loss if the house looses?"
