Any one want to start a Jocko Book club. It seems half of the podcasts are about books. I just got Extreme Ownership. We could start with that one.

Hi there. A few weeks back Jocko retweeted a book club someone had set up. Not sure if it's worth the time to go find it or just make a new one on here? Up to you.

Goodreads is an awesome site. The lady that started is is also a member on here. She does a great job at keeping that site up.

Hey Mynewunit! I'm the mod over at the book club. I'm thinking about leading monthly group reads of the books in the podcast. If you're interested in joining or leading a specific book, please let me know over at the Book Club. I'd love to get something like this started!

So I only finished the Book last month. I think the last 2 chapters had the most insights. I think it did a good job of using leading up and down the chain of command to talk about giving tasks to those skilled at those tasks. The thing the book does really well, is that it doesn't make Leadership look easy, instinctive or an individual activity. It shows how the aspects of leadership are multidimensional, and multi faceted. You could see Extreme Ownership application in the hands off executive, the sleeves rolled up in the trenches manager, and the self employed new kid.
The book almost feels like a companion piece to the podcast interviews with the Team Bruiser guys. Obviously, to hear them tell the stories from the other side helps show that it is as much packaging as the contents. Jocko seems to have a personality for each guy on the Team while they are all still Jocko.
