Ok, so I went in and made a comment to my boss about a guy that kept grabbing my legs during a staff party. He was nice enough about it don't get me wrong, he didn't say it was all my fault or anything but one of his comments was: "you know I really wish you would have come forward sooner bc yes, there's a lot of guys in this field but I'm really trying to make it so its not all just white males".
That kinda took me a back...well ok, not to be insensitive but does the colour of the pig really matter in this context? I mean i don't think any woman ever had the thought that hey...if that jerk that didn't keep his hands to himself had been brown instead of white or any other colour really, I would have felt SOOO much better about the incident.
What is this weirdness...exactly? Cuz to be 100% honest I overheard a brown dude discuss for hours how he sits around and "imagines his girl friends fucking their boyfriends" to a room of idiots and he just doesn't really get the relationship, I mean they could do better...and I reported his ass too without loosing any sleep about it. Why are people confused about this? People...let me explain this as simply as humanly possible...in every culture, in every city, in every nation...EVERYWHERE in general there are guys that behave like pigs. Particularly if they are at a Chrismass party with an open tab.
Now out of ALL of them that idiot was the only one who grabbed me. There was another boss who felt its a good idea to call me a bitch as a joke, which I also didn't like to be honest, but I let that slide since it was in response to a joke I delivered in which someone else said to call him an ass. But I did tell him it was someone else's joke and he still called me a bitch so...you know...whatever. Its not nice but I didn't lose sleep about it. Grabby guy on the other hand tried about 3 times, in increasing intensity and then still proceeded to try to get closer throughout most of the evening.
Now I still got fired, but it was mainly bc I was a little slow at my job apparently...report which came from the dude and some other dude apparently. Despite the fact that I kept asking if there's more I can do and the answer kept being no. Despite all my previous conversations with people in the office which assured me that I am doing 100% fine, just like 2 days prior. WHY is this so difficult for people? And what does it have to do with race? Who cares what color they are? There's dozens of people there, most of them know boundaries. Why is it so difficult for men to police each other a little bit AND how the heck does this conversation turn to skin colour?
In case anyone is still wondering that's "toxicity"...when you would literally rather talk about bringing in more men of different colours then the fact that they should ALL exercise good judgement. ALL of them, all the time. Just do it. its not that hard. Impact on the female in question: has to keep 2 jobs at all times, she's extra tired and probably yes, slower, and super confused bc she's really NOT getting what the freaking issue is or why its an issue at all. Should you hire diversity, sure if those are the best candidates, hire away, but that's really NOT the point right now...is it?
I generally say that its a good thing to be generous, inclusive and give people opportunities.
But that's bc I recognize the fact that affording people a level playing field ensures that you can also regulate everyone better, and ensure higher standards among ALL communities. Not bc I'd rather the guy that gropes me is beige rather then almond. Seriously...WTH?
And, Yes, THIS, believe it or not was still an improvement, bc at least he didn't try to start talking about how horrible his marriage is and trying to get in on the groping action. Yay, progress...? In case anyone is wondering this is nice females start reconsidering their niceness. Its like we're back in time, and guys would still rather fight a war about slavery then give women voting rights. WHY? Why...? Just tell me why, please. I need to know, really.
What's so difficult about this...if you stop beating down decent women, you get to have MORE decent women around. They then raise decent children. They contribute to decent society. WHY is this HARD to understand. YOU then get to have actual good relationships where you don't need to pick bw having sex and seeing your kids! Why is this difficult to understand? I don't care what color they are. I care what kinds of people they are. So should you.
Basic logic...come on....I'm really going to go extinct at this rate.
This shit is really draining. It is. Maybe I was also slow but i'm sorry this shit contributes. Working 16 hr days contributes. Not being able to trust the people around me contributes. Being told I have 6 weeks to finish my training instead of 3 weeks contributes. And having idiotic conversations with my workmates about whether the word "whore" in a song is insulting or not, CONTRIBUTES, to my productivity. I am not policing language bc I said whore is offensive and has nothing to do with a "healthy sex life". In case anyone is still wondering whether this shit is true or not. IT IS, I can prove it.
