Fellas -
1) Thank you for all the hard work and information you are providing. Truly beneficial and appreciate all the time and effort put into it. I try to spread the good word as much as possible.
2) Possible podcast question: I'm not new to the morning workout routine, but had a question on the post workout nutrition. Something that caught my attention over the past few episodes is the supplements discussion, specifically that I haven't heard whey protein discussed once. I eat very clean throughout the day and stick to mostly a high protein, fats, veggie diet. However at the conclusion of my workout at around 530, I always slam a whey isolate shake with just water. I try to get the best option out there so recently Dolce Whey. I'll then prep meals for the day, get ready for work, and in the process put down 2 hard boiled eggs and 1/2 avocado. On drive in to work I'll have organic coffee with MCT.
My question is, am I stuck on the old school thought process that I need the shake and is that extra 25 grams of protein in what the bro science world calls the window of gains truly necessary. If I cut the shake out is the eggs/avocado sufficient and would it better to apply the $60/mo spent on Whey towards more steak to consume throughout the day.
Also curious on what your post morning workout nutrition is like in comparison.
Appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thanks again, Steve (SteveGit25 on social media)

Hey Steve,
Great question. That "Window of Gains" is kind of a bluff. Certainly it is important to refuel your body after a workout, but obviously depending on the intensity/duration of your workout that "window" will change.
And real, quality food is always better than a protein shake made with who knows what. So if you have the option to get some quality real protein and fat like eggs and avocado, 10/10 times I'd go for that. Hope that helps!

Try Strength Sensei. Charles Poliquin
He will give you the complete answer. Obviously, what you are doing is inline with the Mens Health circuit. Jocko would say try working out on a fast. The question being, what is you goal? Stronger, bigger, faster, leaner. You food plan looks pretty good. Might try some variation. If you are trying to get leaner, cut the carbs out of your food and watch your heart rate while working out. Try Primal fitness. If you are trying to get stronger, I would change your workout. Obviously eating is a big part of gaining. Up your fat and carbs if you are trying to build muscle. I find that I hyper focus on a single thing for a month or 2. That helps me see my specific gains. I am back trying to loose weight/fat which is a focus on cardio and no carbs.
