Last Friday it finally happened... in a spar during a take down my ankle went pop-pop-pop... and now I’m out with a posterior tibial strain. I’m pissed. I can’t train. But I’ve decided to reset and use a growth mindset. This time off the mat means I can fully rest and heal the smaller nagging injuries I’ve been ignoring. I have time to focus on core work and conditioning. I can still do workouts, I just can’t roll. But I can self-practice without resistance. I can study. Just wanted to share this with everyone because injuries are part of this game. As my coach said, ‘it’s a combat sport’. So even when we are down, we don’t have to be on the couch eating donuts.
