Is 60 too old for an active (9 marathons) male who needs more to start Jiu Jitsu ... self concious among the kids

60 would not be the oldest at my local BJJ gym. Might not want to compete, but patient and choose good training partners. A great recommendation if money isn't a huge issue, pay for one or more private lessons before you start training with the generic mix of BJJ players.
