Looking for a bjj gym

I want to start at a gym and eventually enroll my son (he's 2 and 1/2 so that can wait). What are some of the things I should look for in a gym? What are some of the red flags I should look out for? I'm in Fresno CA. and noticed we have a Royce Gracie gym. Is this a no brainer?

Jocko and Echo did a bunch of talking about this.  For kids look for a good ratio of instructors to students. Also kids should be having fun.
My kids spend about a quarter of their time playing all out games.  Relay races, Simon says.  One kid at the end of a race shouted "I won" and the Owner said "you didn't win, you just came in first." Look at how they handle injuries, distracted students, and miss matched partners. Their school is a Renzo Gracie school. Also, ask if they have any requirements for Gi's. Some require that you buy them from the school, buy the official patch, etc. Our gym said we can order you one, or you can buy one on amazon.

The list of things from the Jocko Video include: # of classes per day, # of classes you can actually attend, price, quality of instructors, check for other random fees.

usually the norm in a properly kept gym...find out when and how often they clean the mats and equipment...nothing worse then a great training session followed by a staph/ mrsa infection...

Am starting to look around for a dojo/gym. Skeptical on the McDojos scams. Won’t ask a obvious question. But would like to listen to the episode on choosing a gym/dojo. What episode may that be?
